Tips to make your own vegan bread
This recipe is super easy and fun to make. If you’re looking for an activity to do with the kids, this is it. Not only will they have fun mixing and kneading, but they will also be working on their fine and gross motor skills. Plus, they’ll be able to eat freshly baked bread that they’ve made themselves. Here are a few tips to help you with the process:
Plan ahead – this bread takes 4 hours to rise
If you’re planning to serve this crunchy bread for dinner, be sure to plan ahead. It takes 4 hours to rise and 55 minutes to cook. If you skimp on the rising time, you might end up with a heavy loaf. If you time it just right, you can bring the bread out as your vegan dinner is cooking.

Activate the yeast in warm water
Before you begin baking, activate the yeast in warm water. The warm water helps the fermentation process which is what will make your bread rise. Skipping this step will most likely result in a brick instead of a loaf.

To prevent the dough from drying, cover it with a damp cloth
While the dough is rising, cover it with a damp cloth. This will prevent the dough from drying out and will also keep it from getting covered in dust. Place the dough in a warm dry spot to rise.

Cool, slice, and serve!
Serve this bread with your choice of vegan butter and cheese. Store leftovers in an airtight container to use for lunch the next day.
